The Still-life Project is a formalist exploration of the observed still-life motif as a foil for abstraction, and the interaction of color, shape, and form.
This "project" began in the early days of Covid-19 lock-downs and has progressed in the studio (and in my brain) since. Interrupted by a cross-country move, I am just getting this new body of work back off the ground. -In this work I am engaged in painting from observation with a focus on the subtleties and craft of painting, and with a keen interest in how rendered form and space and abstracted form and space can coexist in a painting.
